What to Do if Your Credit Card is Lost or Stolen?

Losing something you love can mean you feel bad at sorts. If you lose your credit card or someone else steals your money supporter the credit card, it should be really painful. First question may be “Is there any chance to spend money by the person who stole the credit card?” Then the answer might be “Yes”. 

Because, the card Number and, CVV code and its expire month and year is visible. And those numbers and date is enough to use the credit card in shopping online or offline. Benefits of using a credit card may give a bad experience too when you lose it. So, how can we reduce the chances of using the credit card by the stealer?

If Your Credit Card is Lost or Stolen

Call your credit card issuer and ask request him to stop the card facilities. Call credit card issuer immediately to report the loss or theft of the missing card.  Don’t panic. You can find your credit card issuer’s phone number on issuer’s website or statement. If you can not, you should just go to a branch of the issuer bank.

Then, check your credit card statement, so that you can keep record of your previous transactions. If any new transactions happen you can ask bank for that as you informed them.

Finally, go to a police station or law enforcement camp near the card lose area or card steal area and request the duty police officer to write a diary about credit card lot or stealing that. It is recommended that you should keep a photocopy of the signed diary copy with police station seal. 

You may need to submit this copy of the police diary to the bank for requesting a new card.

You should be alert so that you can be safe from such a problem in future. Using of a credit card is like using risky things like knife for vegetable cutting.
